This position spot of art was used on the floors, and actu all in ally appearanceed exchangeable a carpet which consisted of medallions inside octagons formed by laurel wreaths and originally framed the figured scene. The materials were used to bring in this piece was marble, limestone, and molten glass. The technique was called tesserae. They use small cubes of stone, marble, and glass to create the floor. The art represents the celebration of the Sea God Neptune and his wife Amphitrite. The use of angels was used in the art. The angels are holding a dole out over them and they are riding the sea horses, and the angels are locomote with the animals (fish). It shows different animal forms ie: dolphins, and fish of all types.
The piss is represented by the lines in the art, and the water looks like it is all around the figures . The color looks like they use molted glass. The colors were silklike for this time and due to the lack of color available at the time, they utilized the colors of blues in the hair which gave it a warm haze which makes it look closer to the viewer. The art is a 2 dimensional piece. The people are bigger which makes them look closer. The colors used were blues, browns, beige, and whites. They used asymmetrical balance in this piece, and this type of art is considered abstract art.
