Three-Part Reflections On "Going Back, On a Hot Ni

First Reflection
On my initial reading of the rime button Back, on a Hot Night, the first social function I noticed was the structure of the poem. The first stanza contained only wholeness sentence, while the third stanza was consisted of many short sentences. I tangle uniform this was imitating the jolting movement of the train.
The simile, …like a freightage of metal beer barrels tumbled on concrete… was very descriptive. It conjured or so sensory imagery and made me feel like I was next to the persona. I felt that there must be some sort of further underlying reasons for these techniques.
old similarly contrasts plain images of paperbark…tea-leaf scrub, the bridge, the yellow kitchens and the smoke with the pond-life of stars and fantasy of the moon. I believe that Gray also did this for a reason.
The second poem I studied was North slide Town. I thought that Gray was trying to make a hitch about humanitys impact on the inseparable world. The simile, Car after car now its like a boxer warming-up with the heavy bag, spit out air, which compargons the cars to a boxer violently hitting the beach, is a perfect modelling that impact. Also the words boxer, heavy bag and spitting all bring negative tones.

Second Reflection
After performing enquiry and study on Robert Gray, I have found that he very much appreciates the power of similes and therefore uses them extensively. The critic Alan Gould says, simile is Grays most characteristic descriptive puppet… and believes that Gray uses them effectively to convey themes. In North Coast Town, Gray uses similes to illustrate the theme of the assault on the natural world by humanity.
