The Title Deserver
In the book Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier there be two ladies who are or were conjoin to Max De Winter. Rebecca was the first but then was killed. The second wife was the narrator and she is Max present wife. These ladies both have or had the human activity of Mrs. De Winter but it should only be given to one. Mrs. De Winter should be a good person, someone who could nominate Manderly well, really outgoing, responsible, really confident, soaring class, fashionable, educated and had to love her husband. Although the deed of conveyance Mrs. De Winter was given to both the ladies the narrator filled the title more than Rebecca. Rebecca never loved Maxim, the narrator did.
If the narrator were depict in one word, it would be simple. She kept to herself for the most part, and had ever lived a very simple life. Compared to Rebecca, the way the narrator looks and acts are a lot simpler. She tries to live up to Rebeccas noble fashion, but since she did non grow up living bid that, she has a hard time dressing like a Mrs. De Winter should dress. People would expect her to dress in elegant, overpriced clothes, but she really doesnt. Rebecca, on the other hand, was ravishing, splendiferous, and beautiful. She wore very high end, fancy clothing and always looked beautiful.
She had long, black hair and was very attractive. In Chapter twenty-two, the narrator says, Rebecca, whom they described as beautiful, talented, and loved by all who knew her… (Du Maurier 301) This quote from the book just shows that people image of her as beautiful and talented.
The narrators attitude is very calm, modest, and reserved. She opens up as the book goes on, but her attitude does non compare to that of Rebeccas outgoing personality. Maxim even admitted in Chapter twenty, You were funny with me, awkward, shy. (Du Maurier 271) The narrator keeps to herself, especially around people whom she is not familiar with.
