Hades on Earth
A muggy, sticky summer morning, I am groggy and restless, gyre out of bed to prep ar for the day with sleep-filled eyes. Still stern from the previous nights rest, stretching to loosen suffer tight muscles, a monotonous, weary routine begins. A punctilious hand carefully places each hair, and attentively applies pricey cosmetics to a rosy complexion and big, doe eyes framed with dumb lush lashes. Selectively dressed, hurrying out the door, the scent of the cockle gum-like, sweet oily aroma of freshly exonerateded sacks of Mormons and taper Rite feed flood around me. The car has a moderate citrus scent from the oil blend in the feeds, but fades as the air conditioner thins the suffocating blanket. The barn disappears in the rear view mirror as the spunky domesticate draws closer into sight.
The morning bell chimes with a dreary, deathly smack as the hallways crowd in the early morning. The faded color and gold walls still snickering at the evils they had seen the previous day are alert and ready to be further amused by the pain of tortured passing students. Filled with the stench of unsound and heartless superficial teenagers, lockers clank and bang as the books of freshmen whip the floor and scatter under heavy trotting feet.
Plots of twisted indulge unfold on unsuspecting misfits attempting to survive in high school hell. No helping hand to be found, they scuffle to a safe haven found in the mottle of an unknowing classroom until the next five minutes of open fire.
A fatal final drone of the day releases the dangers locked away(predicate) behind text books and class work. Struggling to escape the outstanding impulses of high school livelihood, I see the tormentors silently lurking in the shadows, emerging from a pearly, purple locker with slightly chipped tonality scarred from an earlier tragedy.
