The Amazing Spider-man isnt so easy to compare with the 2002s Spider-Man. It is because both are from the analogous Spider-Man franchise and both of them stands on its on as entertain and exciting superhero icons for the all ages. But the advanced Spider-man movie is a complete reboot which is a remake and it is the fourth Spider-Man movie since it first came out ten years ago. So this allow for tell the Spiderman story from beginning with novel actors and a new plot? compared to the old series.
The new reboot franchise was take away by the new director, Marc Webb who had debuted his successful first movie (500) days of Summer, new line of actors, Andrew Garfield and Emma rock-and-roll respectively who teamed up as bill Parker and Gwen Stacy) and Rhys Ifans as the main antagonist.

One of the main aspects of how this picture can be so successful is lying on the main protagonist, Peter Parker. Unlike Toby Mcguires Peter Parker which is a shy and overly nerd, Andrew Garfields Peter Parker is more than intelligent and actively socializes teen. The new Peter Parker is still a nerd but in an accessible way.
As for Emma Stones Gwen Stacy, her character is not as good as Kirsten Dunsts Mary Jane which is more interesting and more desired if compared. Gwen Stacys character was poorly written that it was boring and insipid character. The supervillian was potrayed a little bit like a true character, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde but in the movie the antagonist changed into a demon lizard.
The old spider-man, get his fully abilities from a single prickle but the new Spider-Man does not get his fully abilities from the play spiders bite. He only get the undreamed of strength, speed and able to climb wall only.
