Horatio

The character that I have chosen to write close is Horatio. There are many adjectives that can be use to describe Horatio, like: rational, smart, brave, relate, and loyal. With these adjectives the reader can understand how the different characters in William Shakespeares hamlet feel some Horatio. In the beginning of the play when the ghost appeared Marcellus says, Horatio says tis but our fantasy (I.i.26). This shows that Horatio is a rational thinker; he requirements more evidence to kick upstairs if the ghost is real or in their imagination. The ghost appears once more and Horatio gets his evidence that the ghost is real. Marcellus says to Horatio, Thou art a scholar, blab out to it Horatio (I.i.45). He is the most educated because he attended Wittenberg University and he would have known Latin. Latin is the proper language to dish out a ghost. Horatio could also be called brave because he questioned the ghost even though he was afraid. Horatio promises the ghost, Stay, utter, speak, I charge thee speak (I.i.54). Even though he said this the ghost does non care and vanishes. At this point of the play the guards respect and honor Horatio because he confronted the ghost instead of running away. The play work out and Hamlet decides to go with the ghost.



Horatio on the other hand is concerned the ghost is an evil spirit tempting Hamlet to a suicidal madness. Which might deprive your sovereignty of reason/And render you into madness? (I.iv.74-75). He cares about Hamlet and tries to protect him from the ghost. The final exam adjective that I would use to describe Horatio is he is loyal. Hamlet comes back from tittle-tattleing with the ghost and makes Horatio swear never to talk about what he has seen. Horatio says he will not tell anyone, In faith, my lord not I (I.v.152). Horatio could have told the nance and been rewarded but he chose not to. Finally, Horatio truly is Hamlets best friend because he is loyal and concerned about Hamlet.
