INTRODUCTION

Therefore, there is a legal duty for employers to assess the risks to health from hazardous substances used within the workplace, where hazards from hazardous substances substantiate been identified, then health surveillance is required. The employer must also fit that any exposure to its workforce is either prevented (no exposure), or adequately controlled and monitoring should be suitable to estimate exposure to its personnel, the requisite to use PPE should be viewed as a last resort.
