This collection st artworks at the neolithic period (ca. 3,000 BCE) to Qing Dynasty (1644 1911) and it gives us a look into different peculiar items collected from nearly five thousand years of Chinas history of art. As I walked through the exhibition I saw the piece hanging on the wall. I walked past many beautiful pieces of art civilise moreover taking my eyes off this piece, just long becoming to make sure I didnt break anything. When I finally got to this piece it was so breathe taking. It was created by wen Zhengming who was born in present-day Suzhou (14701559). He often chose to create subjects of great simplicity, like a single tree or rock. His work often brings about a feeling of bearing through isolation, which often reflected his dissatisfaction with official life. However this piece of work wasnt a single tree or rock. It was precise colorful scroll hanging on the wall, which in tune from the brown colorless pieces of art all around it do it stand out and call to me. Wen Zhengming created this piece of art in the style of Li-Sixuns.
Which at the time, I didnt visit what style that was. Nevertheless with a little research I found that Li Sixuns landscape portraits have an upbeat sensory system and a very unique style. He was able to beautifully capture the mountains and rivers with the strokes of his brush. Li-Sixun is considered the chief exponent of a decoratively dreary landscape style of the Tang dynasty and the founder of the so-called blue school of professional painters Wen Zhengming was not interested in showing what nature really looked like. He didnt take you to think you just looked at a photograph soul had taken. Instead, they were trying to express the spirit of the land or nature....
