He shakes really sad or so moving because he is leaving all of his friends back in Virginia, but he is also happy because this school is desegregated, but at the end of the second chapter they start putting up cleans only signs. Rob felt lied to because his parents promised him that this school testament never become segregated. When he gets there many heap are inspired that he would come to an all white school and be the first black boy, just to get an education. When he gets there he meets a friendly boy named, Vinnie Mazzerelli. Vinnie and Rob become really good classmates and help to each one other with problems a lot.
Rob has problems being ignored because he is black and Vinnie has problems of people making fun of his fathers career. Because the problems the boys have they both felt different together. A instructor named, Dillard, was very enthusiastic about Rob trying out for football because many white people were figuring out that black people can be very acrobatic and everybody else talked about him trying out for football too.
